Shirin completed her PhD in the History Department at Manchester University, researching the relationship between Britain and the Chilean coup and using oral history to explore the experience of Chilean exiles within this history. After completing her PhD, she went to work as an English teacher in Spain for a year. Shirin is a research associate for this project and will undertake research in London. She is interested in migration, language acquisition and state led integration policy.
